No 2 The parade. Long before it became Skidmores, this building was the village Post Office & Draper’s Shop.

In 1911 it was run by William Dunning, a draper, stationer and Postmaster, alongside his wife Jesse. Their son Norman later took over the business and became a well known local character. He served as an ARP Warden during WWII and was remembered for his love of sports cars.

This photograph was taken around 1922, on the day the Worle War Memorial was dedicated.
