Making a Statement with the Front of Your House

Even if you’re not looking to sell your property, having a revamp of the exterior can vastly improve its kerb appeal and value. Whether you want to have a quick tidy up or a complete overhaul of the front of your home, there are plenty of ways to tweak the exterior to improve it and they don’t have to break the bank.

Paint the front door

The front door is the first thing that most people see when they look at a home, so it’s important that the door looks good. Front doors can be very costly to replace, so if you are looking to save money in this area then it might be a better idea to give it a lick of paint. There are lots of paints suitable for both wood and UPVC, just make sure you get the right one for your door.

Plant flowers

Hanging baskets and containers of shrubs and flowers can make a huge difference to the front of a home. If you are not particularly green-fingered, there are lots of real looking artificial plants that can do the job just as well and without the upkeep.

Jet wash the walls

The exterior of a property accumulates a lot of grime, so spend an afternoon jet washing the walls and gutters to remove any build-up of dirt. You will be amazed at the difference it makes!

Don’t forget the garden

If you are lucky enough to have some space outside the front of your property, give it some attention by mowing the lawn, tidying gravel or jet washing the driveway.

Install some new numbers

The devil is in the detail, so if your house numbers are looking a bit old and rusty, it might be time to replace them with some new ones. You could even give your house a name and a new sign in the process!
